The Yum Yum Factor

a week that begins with a magical wedding weekend in cottage country and ends with a trip to the market is a good week indeed We attended our second wedding this summer on Saturday in cottage country and had a really great dinner while we were there. I am not going to lie, I don't usually expect much from any sort of wedding meal and I joked that I had checked off the beef option because I was holding out for a steak. Imagine my delight when I saw that the beef option was, indeed, a perfectly grilled, medium rare steak!

the highlight of my week was not food but chaperoning these four tiny wonders at the zoo and the four of them were far more delicious than anything I could have put in my belly. I have spent over a decade chaperoning groups of boys because you always get your own kid plus their posse on field trips. This means that the majority of my time was spent keeping boys alive, out of the lion pit, down from trees and depriving the komodo dragon from his lunch of fresh Montessori meat. Not only was it a rare treat, just look at their outfits!! I could not have art directed them any better so well done girls and the moms who dressed them, well done.

Thankfully, the weather has warmed up but I've been feeling a bit lazy and have spent too much time catching up on my Scandal and Justified. Do you watch Scandal? It is ridonkulously insane, completely unbelievable and so over the top it's one stop from cartoonish and I LOVE IT. I finally caught up yesterday so I am all ready for the third season to continue at the end of February. So, it was Saturday and my son looks like a member of One Direction at present so there was nothing left to do but go to Kensington Market to try to get The Kid a hair cut at The Crow's Nest because that is what we do on a Saturday. They just moved into a brand new, much larger space right across the street from their previous, charming yet tiny basement digs. As expected, they had no walk in appointments available as half of the city's hipsters were waiting to be groomed into someone who would traipse around in worn out, oldy timey work boots, dungarees with suspenders, shirt sleeves rolled up to reveal their sleeve of tats while they play a tiny ukulele, singing "HEY"  "HO"
