The Week in Yum - March16-22 Back to Work

First of all, I have my new lap top so I can post again, with captions and photos and everything!

So, this week was my first week back to work at Sublime, the catering company I have worked at for the last year or so. I took January off and that turned into taking February off and that sort of leaked over into March but here we are, mid March and I am back in the kitchen.

After the first 9 hr day back ( I put 13km on my pedometer and never left the kitchen) and I came home and cried. My back was all seized up and I just wanted to curl up into a ball but I am happy to report, day two went much better and I even managed an afternoon event.
Look at this tasty endive filled with roasted cauliflower/brussels sprouts, goat cheese vinaigrette and puffed wild rice

Spicy Pork Ramen from Kinton on Baldwin
I fit in a couple ramen stops, one at Kinton on Baldwin and another at Nakayoshi Izakaya on the Danforth. Ramen season is going to end soon, for me at least, so I need to cram as much in my stomache as humanly possible. It's worth a trip to Kinton to get the March Special, Kurogoma Tan Tan Men. Pork broth that is full of black sesame paste with thick noodles, seasoned ground pork, an egg and more good stuff. I wish I had ordered it instead and will be going back before the end of the month to rectify that.
Spicy Miso Ramen from Nakayoshi Izakaya, one of the few decent ramen spots in the east end of Toronto

Shack made me go to Vaughn Mills Mall as an excuse to swing by Woodbridge gem,  Ricci's so he could feast on some rigatoni bolognese while I enjoyed a couple of giant meatballs with hot chili oil. If you are up in the north near the city above the city, make Ricci's a priority. Their pastas are hearty and delicious, they have great pizza, big, fresh salads and tasty sandwiches.

The week ended with visit to the AGO to see the Impressionism in the Age of Industry show - it runs until May 5.
This is the closest we will get to Paris for the time being
