The Week in Yum - St Lawerence Market Summer Series

These brussels sprouts were the belle of the ball
After spending the week with family on Wolf Lake, I was ready to come back to the city and get out amongst the action so just hours after landing at home, I was back out again, making my way to the first instalment of St Lawrence Market's Summer Series. The Market is partnering up with The Food Dudes to expand upon the Food Dude's Block Party Series on the patio of the market. The U shaped patio was crammed with bars, food vendors, street artists painting murals all along the walls,  live music as well as a DJ and wandering circus performers. The $30 ticket got you entry plus two food coupons each so, if you go with a friend, four food tickets will be more than enough to share but unless you go the VIP route, you are going to have to pony up for drinks. More food tickets as well as your drink tickets were available on site in a number of spots.

After tasting everything and harrassing partiers to see what they were loving the most, the resounding favourites were:

Brussels Sprouts with General Tao Sauce, Toasted sesame seeds, pickled chilies, fried onion and cilantro sprouts

The Market Burger with BBQ sauce, fried halloumi bacon, onion jam, gochujang aioli, pickles, arugula and pomme frites

Fish Tacos with fried halibut, guacamole, pickled red cabbage, smoked sour cream, hot sauce, scallions and tomatoes

After Pokemon hunting in Kingston and finding all kinds of Pokemon that I have never seen here in Toronto, I have to come out of the PokeCloset
