I am off to
Savour Stratford this weekend so, for now, here is my week in photos:

Seb's on the Danforth - a man's coffee joint
picked berries from the tree in my yard by climbing up on the big, grey garbage bin |
turned the berries into this dessert with angel food cake and whipped cream. Didn't realize that the bundt pan I borrowed from The Neighbours was springform. Lost about 1/4 of the cake batter when I picked up the pan from the bottom. DOH |
impromptu porch party with The Neighbours Saturday night |
a stop at Select Bakery for treats for a sick friend- that bougatsa was messy but delicious - icing sugar everywhere |
a quick drive by of Stratford calls for lunch at Monforte on Wellington for spanish omelette, tourtiere and grilled cheese |
God, I love Monforte on Wellington |
A mid week stop at The Wren for the sopes special YUM YUM |
delicious lambsicles prepared by Luma for the screening at the TIFF Bell Lightbox Theatre of the 100 foot Journey |

samosa before a screening thanks to Disney Canada |
Savour Stratford
It's Saturday I am off on the Stratford Festival shuttle bus to spend the afternoon at Savour Stratford. It's not too late to drive an hour and a half west of the city to check out the festivities. There are tons of chefs doing cooking demos on the Toronto Star Stage at only $5 a pop (or a $30 all access weekend pass). I am hoping to sneak in to see Rich Francis at 3pm and the Artisan Alley tasting tent and the Mill St Brewery Craft Beer and Wine Tent are both covered AND open from 11am-5pm so even in the rain, I am good to go!
This year's Coast to Coast theme has brought together over 150 chefs, farmers, producers, Ontario wineries and craft brewers, cheese makers and culinary personalities. The Savour Stratford Perth County Culinary Festival is one of the largest culinary festivals in Ontario and if you haven't been before, now is time to fix that problem.
